Joe Catapano

About ME

I am an experienced communications, outreach, and engagement professional with experience in diverse policy spaces, including tech, healthcare, and international development. I have an extensive and diverse set of skills encompassing communications
(digital and traditional), outreach/engagement, policy, and advocacy. My greatest strength is taking
complex content and packaging it in a way any audience can understand, from policymakers and the
media to academics, technical audiences, and the public.

01. Strategic

Trained in a fast-paced public affairs environment  – I believe we can be quick and strategic at the same time. Every communications and advocacy campaign should start with a concrete strategy including goals, tactics, and measurement.

02. Professional

Outreach and communications is a relationship business. I believe if you come from a place of honesty, courtesy, and kindness your message is more likely to get through.

03. innovative

The communications environment is constantly changing. Organizations need to be willing to try new tactics, and be honest enough to recognize when something isn’t working. Where are your stakeholders? Take a chance and meet them where they are, as well as where they might be.
